Beer Cartel is the bottle shop to go to if you’re north of the bridge.
Possibly best known for their online store, Beer Cartel also has a physical shop in a commercial area of Artarmon.
With a few fridges stocked full of cracking Aussie and US beers, as well as shelf space devoted to British breweries, Kiwis, Germans, Belgians and more, there’s a huge selection.
They claim to stock over 1000 beers with most of these available online.
Thanks to some savvy buying and nifty importers you can choose from a huge range of beers from around the world including some very special bottles coming from Belgium and the US. The likes of Cantillon, Almanac, Stone and so on are featured on their shelves.
And these shelves are helpfully organised and labelled so you can dive straight into Belgian sour beers or US IPAs.
Beer Cartel is run by knowledgable and passionate beer lovers so they’re good with recommendations. It’s a sure bet if you need to get a gift for a craft beer drinking loved one.
They also have a range of glassware from the likes of Spiegelau and Craftd, as well as brewery labelled glasses in all shapes and sizes, so you can put together a pretty neat gift pack.
It’s often the owners and staff who separate the good bottle shops from the great. At Beer Cartel, there’s plenty of knowledge, not just about global beer styles but about the brewing process too. So hardcore beer nerds can geek out with technical conversation and through some of the events the bottle shop runs.
Growler Filling Station
Like Newtown Growler Depot and The Oak Barrel, you can get growler refills at Beer Cartel. The difference here is you can get Beer Cartel branded growlers and squealers which are pretty cool. It’s through the growler fills that you’re likely to get fresh, local beers.
While if you’re south of the bridge, The Oak Barrel and Camperdown Cellars will probably serve your needs, for northern dwelling Sydneysiders who love their good beer, Beer Cartel is fantastic.
