Inspiration. That’s what’s behind Doctor’s Orders Brewing. And it comes in its purest form – great beer.
Although, as you’ll read on their bottles, they prefer the term “cuckoo brewer”. Like a cuckoo, they take over other nests to lay their eggs – or in this case brew their beers.
The ethos behind the beers is that each one is special. You could say they’re nurtured and raised like cuckoo chicks and then set free into the world.
The beers are meant to inspire the drinker, they’re meant to provoke thought. And they do. Each Doctor’s Orders beer is uniquely intriguing.
They’re identifiable but they have a twist which usually comes in the form of local ingredients or off-the-wall and unexpected additions, making something ordinary extraordinary.
The bottles and tap labels are instantly recognisable. There aren’t many brewers in the gypsy/cuckoo stage that have such pervasive and eye-catching branding.
There’s a personal touch in everything that Doctor’s Orders do and that’s what makes them endearing and such a beloved part of the Sydney craft beer scene.
