They’re proud of their convict heritage, Rocks Brewing – that’s what inspired the name. However, they take more pride in being a truly modern Australian brewery.
Rocks are now a staple of not just the Sydney scene but state wide.
After contract brewing for a number of years they now have a home in Alexandria. And what a home it is – there aren’t many Aussie breweries that are more modern in their production facilities – using a state of the art High Efficiency Brewing System.
The technology behind this means they can extract more sugars from the malt and use less water and energy making it extraordinarily efficient. Rocks Brewing are the first craft brewer in Australia to use this type of system.
Their beers are a taste of their European heritage with strong red ales and ESBs. However they’ve recently taken a foray into more experimental beers which are sure to prove a hit among Sydney beer geeks.
Of course, as with all good breweries residing in the inner suburbs they have a brewery bar.
Rocks have also thrown themselves into the community around their new home in Alexandria and promote other local businesses on their website. However, their spiritual home will always be Harts Pub in The Rocks where you’ll find their beers on tap all year round.
