Could this be the taste of Sydney?
If you want really big flavour from your pale ale, this is for you! Shenanigans Winston showcases well-rounded bitterness with huge citrus hop aromas and fruit salad flavours.
Everything Good About Pale Ale
It’s a pale gold colour in the glass with that little touch of haze we’ve come to expect and love. This is everything that’s right about a classic style that is so often executed to an uninspiring standard.
Don’t let anyone say the pale ale style is tired and boring when there are beers like Winston being made. Especially when they’re made right here in Sydney.
This beer does what so many pale ales fail at. It packs in serious hop character with all the juicy, citrus fruit you could wish for but without it become too bitter and without losing the malt backbone.
A balance between hops and malt is struck perfectly which means it’s easy to return to again and again.
Inspired By America, Perfected In Australia
Winston sits in the American style of pale ales but there’s plenty of Aussie character and the guys at Shenanigans have not only brewed a beer that they love but one that serves Australian beer drinkers’ evolving tastes.
At 5.6% it’s at the high end of the style but in every other way you’d consider it sessionable. It’s light, fruity, there’s a decent amount of body from the grain bill, but schooner after schooner will go down easily especially if you need to quench that thirst.
If you’re going to eat with this make it a schnitty or a pizza in a sunny beer garden. Get out and enjoy this beer.
One Of Sydney’s Best
It’s available on tap and in bottles around Sydney and it’s become one of my go-to beers when I can’t decide what to drink, or when I just want something refreshing and tasty. It’s more than a safe pair of hands, it’s a consistently delicious experience.
Winston is real beauty of a local beer and testament to the Shenanigans boys that this beer gets better and better every time I taste it! There’s a good argument that this is one of the best locally produced pale ales available in Sydney right now.
