The beer producing arm of the Marrickville bottle shop and bar, Bucket Boys, started brewing on a pilot system at Willie The Boatman before multiple collaborations with Australian Brewery at Rouse Hill.

They launched to some acclaim at GABS 2016 where their Red Velvet sweet stout was the unexpected talk of the festival. It was available on both regular and nitro taps and soon had people flocking for a taste.
From there, and after the opening of the shop, the beer brand has gone from strength to strength. Producing small batches at Willie The Boatman and Australian Brewery, they have amassed a portfolio of beers that spans historical or under appreciated styles through to in vogue New England IPAs.
A Record Label For Beer
The approach of Bucket Boys Craft Beer Co. is like that of a record company. They focus on a product but in a number of different ways, through production and distribution, events, merchandise, promoting talent and selling direct to consumers.
There are multiple arms to the business, and while it might be seen that brewing their own beer while importing other brands creates additional competition for all parties, the aim is to promote good beer in its myriad forms.
A development in 2018 saw the brand acting as a label for other brewers, scaling up production and pushing them into the limelight. An early example of this was the launch of Danish Silencer, a hazy double IPA by prominent home brewer Ben Miller, under the From Ben name.
Limited Small Batch Beers
The brewing arm of Bucket Boys Craft Beer Co. produces beer in limited runs, with much of it available in cans or on tap. Cans get into a number of Sydney’s leading specialist bottle shops, as well as local pubs. Their beers can also be found fresh at the Bucket Boys bar and selected venues around Sydney from time to time.
